Drew Barrymore was born on February 22, 1975. There are several actors in her family and she is the granddaughter of John Barrymore. Her career began at the tender age of 11 months old when she appeared in a dog food commercial. Her first movie role was in the movie called Altered States that came out in 1980. Of course her breakout role was a part in the sci-fi blockbuster, ET The Extraterrestrial.
Throughout much of the 1980s her career suffered and she had well-publicized battles with alcohol and substance abuse which led to two stints in rehab. In 1990 she wrote an autobiography entitled Little Girl Lost and she began appearing in movies once again. During the 90s her career took off and she starred in movies like Bad Girls, Boys on the Side, the Wedding Singer, 50 First Dates and several others.
In 1997 she formed a production company with her business partner, Nancy Juvonen and the first movie that the production company produced was the 1999 Drew Barrymore film Never Been Kissed. The production company has been very successful for Barrymore, producing such films as Charlie’s Angels, 50 First Dates, Music and Lyrics, and Donnie Darko.
Drew Barrymore was married to a Los Angeles bar owner named Jeremy Thomas on March 20, 1994 but filed for divorce less than two months later. In July of 2001 she was married again to Tom Green and filed for divorce in December of the same year. She has had a few other serious relationships since then and was married once again on June 2, 2012 to Will Kopelman, an art consultant and son of the former CEO of Chanel. On September 20, 2012 she announced that she was pregnant and they were expecting twins.
After a troubled childhood and some tough times in the 80s, Drew Barrymore has turned her life around and now lives a life that most people can only dream of.
In a few months I am taking a trip to Los Angeles, thanks to a hotels.com promo code making the trip affordable, and I think I’m going to take a little bit of time out to locate her star on the Hollywood walk of fame.
